Pharmaceutical analysis

The course covers not only analytical development in pharmaceutics but partly also quality control (QC) area. The lecturers use their rich experience gained when solving real problems in the pharmaceutical R&D and through contacts with the most experienced representatives of pharmaceutical analysis on the worldwide basis.

In terms of content and topics the course is divided into three main modules:

  1. Analysis of chiral drugs
  2. Structural analysis of drugs
  3. Solid-state pharmaceutical analysis

Separation chromatographic and electromigration methods; spectral techniques such as circular dichroism, infrared and Raman spectroscopy, NMR spectroscopy and mass spectrometry; thermal analysis, X-ray diffraction and particle size and shape analysis are discussed. Validation and transfer of analytical methods and stability testing are considered separately.

Individual lectures are devoted to particular methods. The focus of the lectures is on the application part when case studies of utilization of the mentioned techniques for solution of real problems are considered.

The course is suitable also for pharmacists working in pharmacies of all types whose specialization is pharmaceutical control.
