Veronika Šímová-Grűnwaldová, Ph.D.

After graduation from the Faculty of Chemical Technology of the Institute of Chemical Technology in Prague in 2002, Ms. Šímová-Grűnwaldová worked in the Research Institute of Inorganic Chemistry until 2006. Also from 2003 to 2006 she closely cooperated with the Academy of Fine Arts in Prague. At that time she was primarily engaged in materials research of colour layers on works of art. She deals with solid-phase techniques of materials research. She is specialized in methods of determination of particle size and morphology and surveys determining chemical and elemental composition of solid compounds (optical microscopy, scanning electron microscopy, X-ray powder diffraction, X-ray elemental microanalysis, X-ray fluorescence, laser diffraction and dynamic light scattering). Since 2007 Ms. Šímová-Grűnwaldová works in the R&D Division of Zentiva (Prague) and at the same time became a student of the correspondence postgraduate course at the Department of Analytical Chemistry of the Faculty of Natural Sciences of the Charles University in Prague, where she defended her doctoral thesis in 2010. She cooperates with the Criminalistic Department in Prague, the Institute of Chemical Technology in Prague and the University of Veterinary and Pharmaceutical Sciences in Brno. At present she attends to forensic analysis and primarily analysis of solid pharmaceutical samples.
